Sharing Your Catalog
Your catalog link, visibility settings, and what visitors see in each state
Sharing Your Catalog
Your HotCrate catalog has a stable public URL at hotcrate.app/u/your-slug. You can share this link directly with customers, post it on social media, or embed it on your website.
Catalog visibility
You can set your catalog to Public or Private in Settings under Catalog.
| Visibility | What visitors see |
|---|---|
| Public | Your full catalog - items, categories, and the Crate for submitting inquiries |
| Private | A "catalog unavailable" page with your business name. Public links and embeds show nothing. You can still preview the catalog yourself while signed in. |
Use Private when you are setting up your account and are not ready to take inquiries, or when you want to take a catalog offline temporarily.
Finding your catalog link
Your catalog URL is shown in Settings under the Catalog section. You can copy it from there or just construct it as hotcrate.app/u/your-slug where your-slug is your organization's URL slug.
What customers see on your catalog
Customers can browse items by category, search by name, and add items to the Crate. When they are ready, they click Submit inquiry and fill in their name, contact info, and rental dates. The inquiry arrives in your Rentals list as a pending rental.
