Catalog Settings
Control catalog visibility, search engine indexing, and the inquiry contact form
Catalog Settings
Catalog settings control who can see your catalog and how it is indexed on the web. Find these settings in Settings under Public Catalog, or from the Catalog Settings button at the top right of any admin page. Both places control the same settings.
Visibility
Set your catalog to Public or Private.
- Public - customers can browse and submit inquiries.
- Private - your catalog is hidden from visitors. Public links show a "catalog unavailable" page. Embeds show nothing. You can still preview the catalog yourself while signed in.
Search engine visibility (Pro)
When off (the default), your catalog, item pages, and bundle pages are not indexed by search engines. When turned on, search engines like Google are allowed to crawl and index your catalog.
Search engine visibility is a Pro feature. Turning it on while on Free shows a prompt to upgrade.
Inquiry contact form
If your catalog is set to private but you still want customers to be able to contact you, you can enable the Inquiry contact form (sometimes called suppressed catalog view). When this is on and your catalog is private, visitors see a contact form instead of a blank "unavailable" page.
