Catalog Not Visible

Why your public catalog link shows a "catalog unavailable" page, and how to make the catalog accessible again

Catalog Not Visible

If visitors to your catalog link see a "catalog unavailable" or "this catalog is private" message, there are two common causes.

Your catalog visibility is set to Private

Go to Settings and look for the Catalog section. Check the visibility setting:

  • Public - your catalog is accessible to anyone with the link
  • Private - the catalog is hidden; visitors see a "catalog is private" message

Set it to Public when you are ready to take inquiries.

You can still preview your own catalog while it is set to Private by visiting your catalog link while signed in to HotCrate.

Your public item count is over the plan limit

On the Free plan, you can have up to 10 public items. If more than 10 items are set to Public visibility, HotCrate suppresses the catalog so visitors see a contact form instead of your inventory.

To restore the catalog:

  1. Go to Inventory.
  2. Set enough items to Unlisted or Private so the public item count is at or below 10.
  3. Visit your catalog link - it should load normally once the count is within the limit.

To have more than 10 public items, upgrade to Pro (up to 150 public items).
