Item Missing from Catalog
Why a specific item is not appearing in your public catalog and how to make it visible
Item Missing from Catalog
If an item is not showing up in your public catalog or embed, check the following.
The item's visibility is not Public
Each item has its own visibility setting independent of the catalog:
| Visibility | What customers see |
|---|---|
| Public | Item appears in the catalog browse view and is searchable |
| Unlisted | Item does not appear in the browse list, but is accessible via its direct link |
| Private | Item is completely hidden from all public surfaces |
To change an item's visibility:
- Go to Inventory.
- Open the item.
- Change the Visibility setting to Public.
- Save the item.
The item is in an unlisted state intentionally
If you shared a direct item link with a customer but the item is not in the main catalog, check whether it is set to Unlisted. Unlisted items do not appear in the catalog grid or search results, but anyone with the direct link can view the item page and add it to the Crate. This is intentional behavior for items you want to share individually without featuring them in the full browse view.
The category filter is active
Customers browsing your catalog can filter by category. If a customer says they cannot find an item, ask whether they have a category filter selected. An active filter hides items in other categories. Clicking All or clearing the filter shows the full catalog.
